About this role

Responsible for managing overall community dining operations and experience at an assisted living community. Leads by example in customer service, employee relations, and quality assurance. Maintains compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Plans nutritionally balanced menus using GFS regional and seasonal templates while considering resident preferences. Prepares tasteful meals with pleasing plate presentation adhering to food safety standards. Oversees dining room service including setup, service, and cleanup with high hospitality standards.

Orders supplies weekly based on menu, budget, inventory, and storage. Ensures regulatory compliance, trains meal service staff, and maintains disaster preparedness supplies. Upholds sanitation schedules for kitchen, equipment, and dining room.

Prepares staff schedules, interviews and selects employees, conducts evaluations, and provides coaching. Participates in resident move-ins, care conferences, food committees, and special events. Promotes positive relationships with residents, staff, and visitors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Previous courses in Culinary Arts strongly preferred or three years of experience with cooking/baking in a commercial setting
  • Current ServSafe Manager Certified or obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office in a Windows environment
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with minimal supervision
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Professional telephone etiquette and customer service skills
