About this role
Join Restaurant Associates as a full-time Pastry Chef at Saks L'Avenue Restaurant in New York City. Creates, plans and supervises the daily production of top-quality pastries, desserts and baked goods. Online applications accepted only at this prestigious 8th floor location.
Supervise the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods. Ensure recipes and standards are followed, food costs are controlled and appropriate quantity is prepared based on established production needs. Days and hours may vary with night and weekend open availability required.
Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures. Monitor and control the maintenance and sanitation of the pastry kitchen and equipment. Maintain a work environment that meets or exceeds federal, state and corporate standards.

Requirements
- Previous pastry line experience is required
- Night and weekend open availability is required
- Ability to follow recipes and production standards
- Knowledge of food cost control and quantity preparation
- Proficiency in proper food handling and portion control
- Understanding of pastry kitchen sanitation and maintenance standards

Benefits
- Pay Range: $19.00 per hour to $22.00 per hour
