About this role
Mar-Bella Collection is a family-owned group of four award-winning five-star luxury hotels dotted around the Ionian Sea in Greece. The collection includes MarBella for families, adults-only Nido, Avali on Corfu, and Elix on the mainland above Karavostasi beach. They seek a passionate Commis Pastry Chef for the Elix team in Perdika, Thesprotia.
As Commis Pastry Chef, assist in preparing desserts, pastries, breads, and baked goods while following recipes for consistent quality. Prepare ingredients by scaling, measuring, and mixing for daily service. Maintain clean workstations adhering to health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Work closely with the Pastry Chef and kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation. Assist with inventory control and stock rotation to keep products fresh. Communicate effectively to support smooth operations in a fast-paced environment.
Learn techniques from the Pastry Chef to contribute to creative new desserts. Show eagerness to develop skills in pastry arts within a luxury hotel setting. Benefit from ongoing training in a positive, team-oriented atmosphere.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of pastry techniques and baking processes
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work within a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for pastry arts
- Creative and eager to learn new skills
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- A positive attitude with a willingness to take initiative
- A diploma or certificate in pastry arts or culinary studies is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Assist the Pastry Chef in preparing and baking desserts, pastries, breads, and other baked goods
- Follow recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistency in quality and taste
- Prepare ingredients and equipment for daily service, including scaling, measuring, and mixing
- Ensure the kitchen and workstations are clean and well-maintained, following health and safety regulations
- Assist with inventory control and stock rotation to maintain freshness of products
- Learn and apply the techniques used by the Pastry Chef to contribute to the creativity and innovation of new desserts
- Communicate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards
