Green & Fortune has a great opportunity for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter to join the team at the Royal College of Nursing. This key support role is within a small and busy kitchen team. Help keep the kitchen clean, organised, and running smoothly while supporting chefs and maintaining high standards.

Daily tasks include washing up, cleaning surfaces, and ensuring floors stay clear and safe. Support chefs with basic food preparation, assist with deliveries following food safety standards, and manage waste per recycling guidelines. Keep storage areas clean and organised at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including washing up, cleaning surfaces, and keeping floors clear and safe
  • Ensure all equipment, utensils, and crockery are cleaned and stored correctly
  • Support chefs with basic food preparation when required
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries in line with food safety standards
  • Ensure waste is managed and disposed of correctly, following recycling and environmental guidelines
  • Keep all storage areas clean, organised, and well maintained
  • Follow all food safety, health and safety, and hygiene procedures at all times
  • Support the wider kitchen team during busy periods, working efficiently and calmly
