At Soho House, the Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by cleaning and maintaining kitchenware including pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, and glassware. Main responsibility is supporting hygiene and safety standards, managing waste disposal, and maintaining overall cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen and back-of-house areas.
Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items in line with daily operational needs using commercial dishwashing equipment per safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness of workspaces, storage areas, and dispose of waste appropriately throughout the shift. Follow detailed cleaning schedules, SOPs, and UK regulations including HACCP.
Support the kitchen team by replenishing stock, reporting low supplies, and assisting during peak service times. Handle equipment carefully to minimise breakages and maintain inventory. Replenish supplies like toiletries and towels while safely managing cleaning chemicals.

Requirements
- Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Reliability, discretion, and a professional attitude
- Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
- Up to 2 years’ experience in a busy high-profile venue
- Natural flair for first class service
Responsibilities
- Wash, rinse, and sanitise all kitchen items including pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and glassware
- Operate commercial dishwashing and cleaning equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workspaces and storage areas
- Dispose of kitchen waste appropriately, ensuring bins are emptied and areas are kept clean
- Adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies including HACCP
- Follow detailed cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support the kitchen team by replenishing stock and assisting during peak service times
- Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment
